After 4 days of portfolio reviews at the FotoFest Meeting Place Paris 2019, where 111 photographers and 31 prestigious reviewers from 5 continents met, FotoFest, VU’ and the Fonds Régnier pour la Création organized an exceptional evening, which opened with the awarding of the Prix Régnier 2019.
The jury, made up of the partners of this edition, Laurence Régnier and Amandine Bouygues (Fonds Régnier pour la Création), Xavier Soule (VU’), and Steven Evans (FotoFest), deliberated a list of nominees established by the experts.

« In a society where images from all over the world abound on networks, being a photographic artist is a profession that is often misunderstood. We often forget that being an artist is a very lonely job, which requires a lot of patience and perseverance. Even if it is an exciting job, doubt, fear and the difficulties of the profession are elements that can regularly call into question a vocation.
Receiving the Prix Régnier is, above all, an immense joy. This prize gives meaning to years of work and research, and is a great stimulus for the future.
This award evening was a nice surprise because it was the first time I had participated in portfolio reviews and received such an award.
Since then, I have gained in confidence and I have the desire to surpass myself even more in my future creations. Recently, I have also been contacted by a few exhibition spaces, and new collaborations should come up.
Thanks to the Fonds Régnier pour la Création for supporting my application, thanks to FotoFest for coming to Paris to allow artists and professionals from all over the world to meet and exchange. Thanks also to the VU’ agency and to Matthias Nouel for his kind advice.» France Dubois
The Fonds Régnier pour la Création financed travel and living expenses in Houston, as well as a grant to create a portfolio. FotoFest funded the registration for the Houston session.
