She has a deep, haunting soul voice.
He’s a drummer navigating between rock and hip-hop.
This karmic duo invites you to a ceremony where Lauryn Hill, Rage Against The Machine, Erykah Badu and Mac Miller meet. Between fiery beats and airy chords, the voice is poised and the flow is committed. It’s hard to name all their ghosts, but for Maeva and Geoffroy, it’s in mixing genres – and people – that a rich vocabulary is born.
The duo of Maeva Heitz and Geoffroy Sourp was born out of a shared and growing desire to create a project in their own image, and their atypical, cross-disciplinary backgrounds quickly drew the outlines of their playing cards:
Music Conservatory, then school of hardcore metal, jazz and hip-hop with a beatmaker option for drummer/plural-instrumentalist Geoffroy (Goldencut, Dirty Deep), who is also sponsored by Vater Drumsticks and Ludwig.
Conservatoire de Chant, then Afro-fusion school, activist hip-hop with new-soul colors for Maeva, who sang backing vocals for vocalist Zap Mama (2008/2009) and rapper Diam’s (national/international tours from 2006 to 2011).
Maeva and Geoffroy’s artistic affinities, as well as their everyday complicity, lead them to exploit their creativity without smoothing out their rough edges. Their technical eclecticism allows them to work as a duo, leaving them alone at the helm of their compositions, whether organic or digital, at once classic and resolutely contemporary.
Maeva’s singular vocal style leaves an imprint like an identity on this fresh cement.
The successive confinements and forced stoppage of their activities worked in their favor. They finally had the time to invent their project and compose their repertoire: Geoffroy behind his machines and instruments, Maeva singing and writing.
At the end of 2021, they released “Indigo”, their first single, and this was the start of their adventure as a duo: 3 singles released, then the EP in preparation.
The Full Moon EP recorded at Red House thanks to the Summer chance device:
As the various phases of the creative process follow one another, the Moon is full after it has gone through all the phases that precede its full exposure. It is in this diffuse light that the “Full Moon” EP will be released: an ode to complementarity and the balance of opposites.
In a chiaroscuro atmosphere, we can make out the mystical new-soul contours of Ibeyi, sometimes crossing the straight lines of Kendrick Lamar-style hip-hop, sometimes the alternative relief of FKA Twigs.

What is “Summer Chance”?
On July 1st, 2020 we launch a call for projects dedicated to musical creation to support the emerging scene: “SUMMER CHANCE #1” is born :).
We wish then, taking into account the sanitary constraints related to the epidemic of Covid-19, to allow bands deprived of concerts, to finalize during this period a project of EP in professional and convivial conditions. Our partner, the Red House Studio, has all the qualities to welcome the winners: a magnificent house of 450 m2 in a peaceful and green setting, an ultra professional human accompaniment with a dedicated sound engineer and state-of-the-art equipment.
Among the many applications received during the summer, our selection committee has chosen four winners: Kids Return, LUNAR, Zoe’s Shanghai and Black Rooster.
The project is a real springboard for these musicians, and we’ve decided to repeat it every year:
SUMMER CHANCE #2 in 2021 : Extraa, Saint-Victoire, Serpent et Yakie.
SUMMER CHANCE #3 in 2022: Mandelbro, The CZ et Torren.
SUMMER CHANCE#4 in 2023: Maeva, Mélys, Ooma et Paul Roman
