Biography :
Julie started learning music at a very early age. She falls asleep every night listening to her father playing Chopin, Bach, Brahms, and many others.
After graduating from the Bordeaux Ecole des Beaux Arts, she worked for 5 years in an elementary school where she offers art workshops (plastic, clown, music) to children.
Music has never left her; she continues her piano and singing training at the CIAM (Bordeaux), plays in several groups, writes her own songs.
She made her debut in the street with the women’s group Lépiceri, then on stage under the name of “Julie et le vélo qui pleure” (1st album “que nos yeux soient lavés” in 2008) she played in opening acts, festivals and springboards in French song, while working as an art therapist.
Between 2008 and 2020 she recorded 4 albums (her fourth, “Amours Sorcières“, released in 2020 received great reviews in the press, including 3 keys rating Télérama), and wrote and performed the music-theater play “J’ai rencontré des étrangers” widely acclaimed and supported by her region.
She is also a musician for the theater where she learns to write and play “on command” for a stage director.
Her humanism can be found in her texts as well as in her music; she collaborates with many musicians and arrangers, all chosen for their very eclectic origins.
One often evoked Barbara, Anne Sylvestre while listening to her.
