After studying agronomy and animal husbandry, he worked as a farm laborer for several years. He then changed careers, enrolling in journalism school to become a reporter and radio host for OUI FM, before joining the French pop scene as a singer-songwriter and lyricist.
A self-taught photographer, he takes portraits of people from the different spheres in which he moves and, for some time now, has wanted to develop work at the crossroads of reportage and experimental photography.
He is also interested in how masculinity changes depending on the places it occupies, as in the project Les hommes du milieu , which he will develop during MP#06.
“La Baie du Milieu” is a semi-wild island on the Red River in Hanoi, where men, for social or economic reasons, come to isolate themselves from the world and invent other ways of living together. It is this great diversity of masculinities and the reasons for this marginalization in the city’s preserved natural areas that Adrien Viot will explore and attempt to understand.
