Biography:
Lucie Vérot is a graduate of ENSATT, training Writer.e playwright, since 2017.
Following stays in Guyana, she is conducting a writing and research project based on this region from which her plays Mangrove (published by Éditions Espaces 34 in 2019), Fins de service (winner of the Aide national à la création d’Artcena in November 2020) and Jeune qui veille et vieux qui dort are derived.
Two of her texts for young audiences were created at the Comédie de Valence: Le Gène de l’orchidée, directed in 2014 by Luc Chareyron, and Prouve-le, directed in 2016 by Maïanne Barthès. The latter also created her text Antigone faille zero day in 2017.
Her play Prouve-le, Une histoire virale will be published by Les Solitaires Intempestifs (youth collection) in 2021.
As a playwright, she is part of the collective La Fugue. She also worked in Kourou (Guyana) with the company le Théâtre de l’Entonnoir in 2017.
For the Saint-Denis Jazz Club, she wrote the libretto of a jazz opera, L’Opéra vert, composed by Emmanuel Bex (creation planned at the Théâtre Gérard Philipe in Saint-Denis in 2021). She works on various writing commissions, with the Théâtre Octobre company and with the Tras company, for the stage and for the public space. Her text Les Embarquées (maritime theater to be performed on shuttle boats) will be created by the company Tras during the next festival of street arts Avis de temps fort in Port-Louis.
She continues to write from Guyana.
